Meet the Keaneys
Ernesto’s journey into the world of finance began in 1999, shortly after serving in the U.S. Navy. With a client-centered approach, he has dedicated his career to managing and protecting the wealth of individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Ernesto is a proud alumnus of Lynn University, where he earned an MBA in Financial Valuation & Investment Management. In 2003, he established Keaney Financial Services Corp.
In 2011, Emmelis Keaney, Ernesto’s wife, became a pivotal part of the company and today serves as Executive Vice President. She brings an academic foundation spanning finance and communications: a Master of Science in Finance from Florida International University and a Bachelor’s in Communications with a focus on Investigative Journalism from the University of Puerto Rico. Both Ernesto and Emmelis are Investment Adviser Representatives of Ameritas Advisory Services, LLC (AAS).
Together, Ernesto and Emmelis are the architects of the firm’s proprietary research framework, the KFSC Institutional Intelligence System, which they built and maintain in-house. It grew out of a conviction that runs through their work: preserving wealth matters as much as creating it.
The Keaneys cultivate deep relationships with their clients, preferring to collaborate with those who value risk management highly. This discerning approach means their services may not suit everyone, but they are ideal for like-minded individuals and entities who prioritize security in their financial strategies.

Dorian Keaney
FINANCIAL REPRESENTATIVE
Dorian Keaney is Ernesto’s brother and a Financial Representative with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC (AIC). He has trained under Ernesto and Emmelis for more than eight years and assists them with research and administration. Sixteen years younger than Ernesto, Dorian is part of the firm’s long-term succession plan.
He works with the firm’s corporate clients on group benefits, including health, life, and disability coverage. He also assists clients with estate planning and income replacement, including life, disability, income, and annuity planning. As a survivor of a tragic car accident, Dorian has made it his mission to educate people on the importance of appropriate medical coverage and the ancillary benefits that employers and employees alike often dismiss as unimportant.
Dorian continues to build his formal education. He earned honors this year at Indian River State College and is transferring to Lynn University to complete his Bachelor of Science in Wealth Management during the 2026–2027 school year. He intends to remain at Lynn afterward for an MBA in Financial Valuation and Investment Management, the graduate degree Ernesto holds. His focus on macroeconomic research and his growing depth in wealth management make him an integral part of the team.
Dorian is a husband and the proud father of two.
Joseph R. Winter III, CRPC®
FINANCIAL REPRESENTATIVE
Joseph Winter has built a distinguished career in financial services and has worked for more than fourteen years with pre-retirees, retirees, and seniors aged sixty-five and older on their insurance needs. He is a Financial Representative with Ameritas Investment Company, LLC (AIC), and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) designation from the College for Financial Planning.
At Keaney Financial Services Corp., Joseph guides clients through the details of Medicare and Social Security, helping them understand how their insurance options change from year to year. His work for retirees covers Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans; dental, life, and cancer coverage; burial insurance; and fixed annuity contracts such as multi-year guaranteed annuities (MYGAs) and fixed index annuities. His approach is personal and attentive, aimed at giving seniors clear guidance on the financial and healthcare decisions that matter most to them.
Joseph has trained under Ernesto and Emmelis for more than fourteen years. He assists them with research and administration, helps lead the firm’s operations and client relationship management, and serves as executive assistant to both. Joseph and the Keaneys go back more than thirty years. He is like family, and that long friendship strengthens how closely they work together.
Joseph is married to Stephanie Winter, and his life outside the firm is enriched by his dogs, who are like children to him.
John A. Guntkowski, CRPC®
LICENSED INSURANCE AGENT
John Guntkowski is Ernesto’s uncle and brings more than thirty years of experience in the financial services industry. A Vietnam War veteran, he developed a disciplined, strategic approach through both his military service and his corporate career. Until 2022, he served as an Investment Adviser Representative with Ameritas. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) designation from the College for Financial Planning.
As a licensed insurance agent, John works with group benefits packages, covering group health, dental, life, and disability insurance, along with fixed annuity contracts. At Keaney Financial Services Corp., he also supports the firm in an administrative capacity and through business and corporate introductions and relationships.
